M.Sc in Psychological Counselling (2 years; 4 semesters)
The Masters Programme in Psychological Counselling is a two-year programme affiliated to the Bangalore University. It is spread over four semesters. The purpose of the Masters Programme in Psychological Counselling is to prepare masters level counselling psychologists with academic, professional and personal credentials to provide counselling services in a range of settings such as community agencies, school systems, couple and family settings, private practice and business settings. In addition students are prepared to pursue academic and research careers as well.
A major emphasis is given to personal growth and awareness as well as skills training and integration. Students joining this course are placed in counselling agencies from the first semester onwards in a graded manner to facilitate learning and integration. In addition they are provided with opportunities to improve their personal awareness through workshops, mentioning programmes and personal counselling services.
Eligibility:50% of marks in B.A/B.Sc Degree having studied at least one paper in Psychology at the graduate level or B.Ed or PG Diploma in counselling with 50% marks in the aggregate. Admission is made based on marks secured in the qualifying exam and entrance test and interview conducted by admission committee
