Admission guidelines / How to apply

Applicants may please note the following
Candidates who have explored the details regarding our courses and are desirous of joining Montfort College are requested to review the eligibility and selection criteria for the particular course. Application forms for the various programmes are available at the Administrative office of the College or it can be downloaded from the website. Wish you all the best!


How to apply

Completed applications are to be forwarded to the College along with the following:

1. Demand draft of INR 500 for M.Sc programmes (US $ 35 for foreign nationals) favouring Montfort College, payable at Bangalore.

2. Copy of Degree Certificate and Marks Sheets of all semesters / years of the qualifying exams.

3. Conduct certificate from the principal of the college / university department last attended / from a Gazetted officer.

4. Copy of Transfer Certificate (if available)

5. Copy of Migration Certificate for candidates from outside Karnataka (if available)

6. Medical fitness certificate from a competent medical practitioner.

7. Reason for applying for the course

8. Two recommendation letters from responsible persons who have social standing
(preferably on from the HOD of the institute last attended), which should reach the
Principal directly or along with the application in an envelop sealed and signed. (Family or relatives cannot give the recommendation letters). The recommendation letter must include:
a) In what capacity the student is known and for how long,
b) A realistic assessment of intellectual capacity,
c) Motivation,
d) Ability to work in a team.


On receipt of the above, the college office will contact you regarding the entrance test and interview formalities.

Information to Foreign Students :
Foreign students who apply for the course need to possess a valid student visa, residence permit,
Eligibility certificate from the Bangalore University and should have passed TOEFL or equivalent test for English Language.

Selection Criteria for M.Sc Psychological Counselling and Psychology

Entrance Test (30%)

Multiple-choice examination on General Psychology, Application of Psychology to life situations and a test of aptitude.
